CKG Memorial Govt College, Perambra

The CKG Memorial Govt College was established in 1975. It was inaugurated by Sri. K. Karunakaran the Hon. Home Minister of Kerala. The college started functioning using the infrastructure of the Perambra High School. It was affiliated to University of Calicut with Pre- Degree courses in Humanities. In 1987 the college was shifted to the present location. Later Pre-Dregree delinked and degree courses started. In 1992 the first Degree course in Commerce was started. Now the college offer Seven degree courses and Three Post graduate courses. At present, more than 1200 students studying in this institution, In 2016 the institution is accredited with B+.

About RUSA Project

An allocation of 2 crores has been made available from the Rusa Fund, specifically aimed at enhancing the existing infrastructure. Out of this amount, Rs 1 crore has been specifically earmarked for construction works, Rs 80 lakhs for renovation works, and Rs 20 lakhs for the procurement of materials to support the college's development. Under this initiative, a significant portion of one crore has been devoted to constructing four classrooms on the second floor of the PG Block. Additionally, in alignment with the allocated funds, facilities such as disabled-friendly washrooms and lift installations have been implemented to enhance accessibility. Furthermore, an allocation of Rs 80 lakhs has been designated for renovation activities, encompassing the upgrade of washroom facilities in the main block, replacement of various windows, as well as the installation of trace work, and replacement of grilles on the ground floor verandahs.
