Mary Matha Arts and Science College, Mananthavady
Mary Matha Arts and Science College is established in 1995 and is managed by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mananthavady with the objective of meeting the higher educational needs of the youth of Wayanad. The College is included under Section 2 (F) & 12 (B) of the UGC Act, was awarded Grade B++ (83.5%) by the NAAC in 2006, re-accredited with A grade in 2014 and with B++ (CGPA - 2.85) in 2019. With eight Undergraduate Programmes, two Postgraduate Programmes, three Research Centres, and the Study Centre of the IGNOU, the College has maintained its reputation for diversification.
About RUSA Project
A proposal was submitted to RUSA which contained 3 parts. Proposal 1 dealt with the construction of a new library block. Proposal 2 dealt with the renovation of the existing facilities of the college. Proposal 3 dealt with the purchase of sufficient number of equipments for the laboratories in all the departments. An amount of Rs.2 crores was sanctioned. Out of which an amount of Rs.1.5 crores was received. All the works related to construction and renovation were completed within the time prescribed. The inauguration of the newly constructed and renovated projects was held on 29 April 2022.
