N.S.S Training College, Ottapalam is one of the scores of educational institutions, ranging from elementary schools to Grade-I colleges, owned and manged by Nair Service Society, a registered charitable society, was founded in the year 1914 by late Mannath Padmanabhan, the legendary social reformer, educationist and visionary . Today its organs or units sprawl from one end of the state to the other, and even beyond the boundaries of the state playing pivotal role in the social transformation of the state by means of the mighty tool of widespread education. NSS Training College Ottapalam was established in the year 1960. It is the only aided training college in Palakkad district. The college is affiliated to Calicut University and is included under sections 2(f) and 12B of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The college was graded A with CGPA 3.36 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) after the second cycle of reaccreditation of the college in 2016. At present, the college offers B.Ed, M.Ed and Research programmes. The college is an approved research centre in Education of the University of Calicut.
