Pocker Sahib Memorial Orphanage College was established in July 1968 as an aided junior college, affiliated with the University of Kerala under the management of the Tirurangadi Muslim Orphanage Committee (Regd.) Consequent to the University re-organization, the college came under the University of Calicut in the same year. It was upgraded to a first-grade college in 1972 and a Post Graduate College in 1980. At present, ten-degree programmes and seven postgraduate programmes are offered at the college catering to the higher educational needs of around 2000 students.In addition to these, five of the eight PG departments are recognized as research centres of the University of Calicut. The college has completed 55 years of its academic journey.

It has emerged as one of the premier institutions of higher learning under Calicut University in terms of infrastructure, programmes, staff and student strength. At present, ten-degree programmes and seven postgraduate programmes are offered at the college catering to the higher educational needs of around 2000 students. The College is Accreditted by NAAC with A+ grade and by NIRF in the rank band 101 -150 in 2022 and is the only Arts and Science College from Malappuram that hold a valid NIRF ranking since 2019. The College is also ranked by ARIIA in the ‘Band Performer’ category in 2022.
