The Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, is a premier institution of higher learning and research in South India devoted to the propagation of Classical Sanskrit Language and Literature, Vedic, Vedantic and Vedangic studies, Modern Indian languages, Performing and Fine Arts, and Social Sciences. The University has carved out a niche for itself among the institutions of higher learning in India by combining traditional streams of knowledge with modern and emerging trends of research. It has the unique status of being the first University in Kerala to be accredited by the NAAC team with an ‘A’ Grade in 2014 the first cycle itself. In 2021, the University was reaccredited by NAAC with A+ grade, the first University in Kerala and the first Sanskrit University in India to earn the achievement. Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit marches ahead by producing and disseminating knowledge to enlighten the people to perceive beyond the common. The University, named after Sree Sankaracharya, the great exponent of Advaita Vedanta and an illustrious sage and philosopher of India, is situated at his birthplace, Kalady, on the banks of river Periyar (Poorna) in Kerala.
