St. Aloysius College Edathua

St. Aloysius College, Edathua is a first grade college which has completed five decades of glorious service to the cause of higher education. Now, it is a well-established NAAC reaccredited (4 th third phase) – A Grade centre of learning. It is the only temple of higher learning of the kind in the entire region of the one-time granary of Kerala, Kuttanad,Alappuzha. It was founded in 1965 by St.George’s Forane Church, Edathua. The college was upgraded in 1977 by introducing undergraduate program in Economics. Post graduate program was introduced in 1984. The College has now grown into a premier educational institution and it has now to its credit 9 UG, 6 PG and 2 Ph. D programs.

About RUSA Project

As per the modified DPR submitted on 12/07/2019, the RUSA was approved the project proposal of Rs.2 Crore consisting of 1 Cr. for the construction of an academic building and 0.5Cr. for renovation of existing structure and 0.5 Cr. for purchase of equipments. The construction of new building is not yet started as the permit for the same is still under process. The renovation work is completed by the Nirmithi Kendra, Alappuzha and the final bill will be settled soon. The purchase portion is also pending as it could be made only after once the construction of new building is over.
