St. Dominic's College, Kanjirapally
St. Dominic's College, founded in 1965, became a degree college in 1976 and a postgraduate college in 1981. The College is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University and it is recognized in 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act. The college was chosen for DST-FIST-0 level grant in 2018. The college offers 13 UG and 6 PG Programmes. Every year UG and PG students of the college secure top positions in various university examinations. In the arena of Sports and Games too the college wins laurels every year. The phased development of the college is well attested in the accreditation and assessment grades that the college has received earlier, Three star in 1999, ‘B++’in 2007 and ‘A’ Grade in 2017.
About RUSA Project
Our college has submitted a DPR to the state RUSA project office, which includes Rs.1 Crore for construction, Rs.44 Lakhs for renovation, and Rs.56 Lakhs for installation of 35kw solar panels, purchase of laboratory and sports equipments and library books. DPR has been approved by RUSA project office and has given consent on 31.10.2019 for initiating the works. RUSA has also released Rs.1 crore as the first installment on March 31st 2020. On June 1, 2020, the land for the construction work was handed over to Kerala Irrigation Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, nodal agency for construction works and renovation. The construction work was completed by Vallamattam Constructions, Muvattupuzha. The fund for construction is utilized to construct the Student Amenity Centre (525.66 sq.m) and the expansion of library (210.54 sq.m). The Student Amenity Centre includes the Cafeteria, Stationery Shop, Wellness Centre and Reprographic facilities.
