Sullamussalam Science College Areekode, Malappuram
Sullamussalam Science College is a first-grade aided College affiliated with the University of Calicut, approved by the University Grants Commission and accredited by the NAAC with ‘A’ grade in its third cycle in 2019. The College is located at Areekode, on the banks of the river Chaliyar. in Malappuram District. The Muslim Educational Association, an educational agency founded in 1994, runs the College. The College was established to impart quality education to backward communities in rural areas of Malabar. Presently 1080 students are pursuing their studies in 7 UG, 7 PG, and one research programmes.
About RUSA Project
The College is one of the beneficiaries of the RUSA 2.0 project, and the RUSA State Project Directorate allotted an amount of Rs. 2 crores to the College for the Construction, Renovation of infrastructure facilities, and Purchase. An amount of Rs. 1.50 crore was released by the RUSA- SPD so far. The amount allocated for the Construction is one crore, Renovation is 45 lakhs, and Purchase is 55 lakhs. Construction (Auditorium) and Renovation (Classroom Tiling) were completed in March 2021, and the College is waiting for the inauguration.
