Under the “Blended and Intensified Mission Mode”, the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) is a UGC sponsored separate entity on similar lines of an inter university institute catering to the needs colleges and universities within the state/neighbouring states. UGC-HRDC, University of Kerala was instituted in the year 1987. A total number of 864 courses with total participant strength of 35,364 were conducted up to 31st March 2023 which includes Orientation/Induction Programme, Refresher Courses (subject wise/Interdisciplinary/Multidisciplinary), Short-Term Courses for University HoD’s and University Administrators, Workshop for Principals of Colleges etc. The UGC will provide 100 percent assistance to the HRDC’s. The university has to support in case of delay in release of funds from the UGC in order to function the HRDC uninterruptedly. In addition, we are also conducting courses other than courses sponsored by UGC. Stimulating teachers through Advanced Training Programmes (STAT) sponsored by Govt. of Kerala, Orientation/Refresher/Short-Term Courses sponsored by RUSA and Short-Term Courses for University HoD’s, University Administrators and Induction Programme for faculty members under DOMTEC-sponsored by University of Kerala were conducted by HRDC.
