Sree Narayana College, Varkala

Sree Narayana College Sivagiri, Varkala is a well-known higher education centre in the name of the great saint and social reformer, Sree Narayana Guru. The college was established in 1964 by Sri. R. Sankar. The vision of our college is “Liberation through Education”. The mission of our college is to impart quality education by integrating traditional and innovative practices. The college campus is spread across 30 acres of land. The college is affiliated to the University of Kerala and is run by Sree Narayana Trusts. Currently the college offers one Ph.Dprogramme, 5 PG programmes and 11 UG programmes. The college is re-accredited with B++ grade by NAAC, bestowed with ‘Star College’ status by the DBT and it is RUSA funded.

About RUSA Project

The finalised detailed project report (DPR) of Sree Narayana College, Sivagiri, Varkala, submitted to the State project Directorate of RUSA on 8th June 2019. The DPR includes proposals for construction, renovation and purchase. The proposal 1 deals with the construction of a single storeyed library block, but not yet started. The proposal 2 includes the renovation of the existing facilities such as renovation of toilets, tile work, roof work, digitalisation of class rooms, and electrical maintenance. All the renovation works were completed. The major objective of proposal 3 is to purchase equipment for the upgradation of various departments and overall institutions. The materialisation of renovation benefitted our institution both academically and administratively.
